California Water Fix

One of the largest infrastructure projects currently under consideration in the United States, the California Water Fix will physically modify California’s State Water Project to include new diversion and conveyance facilities in the northern part of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. The goal of the effort is to stabilize water exports from the Delta to portions of the Bay Area, the San Joaquin Valley, and Southern California while reducing the ongoing adverse environmental effects associated with current export operations in the South Delta. Since 2008, Jim Moose and Brian Plant have served as outside counsel to the California Department of Water Resources with respect to the California Water Fix (portions of which were formerly known as the Bay Delta Conservation Plan).
