RMM has advised and represented the California Department of Water Resources on major water infrastructure and operations matters.
Delta Conveyance Project
RMM advised DWR on CEQA compliance for the water conveyance project in the Sacramento–San Joaquin Delta, now referred to as the Delta Conveyance Project. The project involves modernizing Northern California water conveyance infrastructure, including a proposed tunnel beneath the Delta. RMM also assisted DWR with initial project permitting, including permitting under the federal Clean Water Act.
State Water Project Long-Term Operations
RMM advised DWR on CEQA compliance and endangered species issues in connection with the preparation of an EIR addressing the long-term operations of the State Water Project (SWP). The SWP supplies water to more than 27 million people in California and irrigates approximately 750,000 acres of farmland. The SWP also includes facilities supporting flood control, power generation, recreation, and fish and wildlife habitat.
