California Vegetation Treatment Program
CalVTP provides a statewide framework for implementing vegetation treatments on public and private lands as part of California’s wildfire risk reduction efforts. Vegetation treatments analyzed under the Program EIR include wildland-urban interface fuel reduction, fuel breaks, and ecological restoration through prescribed burning, mechanical and manual vegetation removal, prescribed grazing, and herbicide application. RMM advised the Board of Forestry regarding the preparation and certification of the Program EIR and is currently assisting the Board with a Subsequent PEIR for CalVTP.
Project Highlights
- CalVTP enables vegetation treatments on up to 250,000 acres annually across California in support of the Governor’s statewide wildfire resilience goal.
- RMM advised the CalFIre on preparation and certification of the Program EIR.
