Caltrain Electrification Project
The Caltrain Electrification Project converted commuter rail corridor between San Francisco and San Jose from diesel to electrified service, enabling faster, more frequent trips, increased capacity, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. The project, partially funded by the California High-Speed Rail Authority, will support future high-speed rail service on the Peninsula through shared use of the electrified corridor. RMM successfully defended the project’s EIR, and the electrified system is now in service.
